Random Thoughts Thursday

A "you have to participate" edition (answer any questions and make suggestions where requested in comments, please)

* I have succumbed. I purchased my first iTunes song two days ago.

* Stop laughing.

* Guess which song it was?

* I now have 4 songs downloaded. Woo! Look at me go!

* What songs do you recommend I download from iTunes? Please, choose wisely as each costs the measly sum of 99 cents!

* My name is Tara and I am an impulse purchaser.

* While walking to the back of the post office line yesterday, I saw a tiny blue mailbox. I thought, "I have to have that."

* Why?

* I love mail, as you know. And now I have my very own miniature mailbox on my desk.

* Impulsive!

* But at least I never impulsively bought "The Macarena" or some other drivel that the masses flock to.

* I'm a non-conformist impulse shopper.

* Leaving Hallmark the other day, I bought a Grow-A-Head. It's this head with a smiley face that grows grass for hair, which I can trim and style.

* See?

* What's that -- too much time on my hands?

* Au contraire! Not enough time! That's why more than a week between posts.

* Did you miss me?

* I'm so sick of hearing about "Dreamgirls." Is it even out yet? I won't miss them if they all just go away.

* ..... Sorry for the pause, I was thinking of what to write next and playing with my ponytail. I just realized I do that sometimes when I think.

* At least I was never a pencil chewer, just a hair twirler, apparently. Ap-hair-ently.

* hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

* Speaking of hahahahahaha, New York magazine made me laugh. How: "Britney's Vagina Travelogue."

* Switching gears. Hear that awful noise? I never could change bike gears without it sounding like I was breaking the damn thing.

* Anyhoo...

* Dreams do come true, it could happen to you. Just something I've been thinking about lately.

* I have rediscovered Chick-Fil-A, where my grandmother used to take me as a kid. Haven't eaten there in years, but the other day... buffalo nuggets! So tasty!

* Hungry... must have buffalo-flavored chicken...

* What did I ever do without it? I've been enjoying chicken wings for more than a decade. How on earth did I eat chicken before that?!?

* When will this post end?

* How about now?

* Smile!

Movie Mania!
Featuring the TLJ-
Roger Ebert 4-star system.
Usually, Rog and I agree. Usually.

The Dark Knight
TLJ: 3.5 stars
Ebert: 4 stars
I agree, it's an "engrossing tragedy." A great film that makes you think.

I Love You, Man
TLJ: 3 stars
Ebert: 3.5 stars
I liked it, too, Rog, but not as much as you. Yes, you're right -- Jason Segel is my new favorite guy though I do still love my Paul Rudd, too. I laughed enough that I was happy I rented it. Corny, silly, but smart in places, too.

Ballerina
TLJ: 2.5 stars
Ebert: No review online
This movie followed the ballerinas of the Russian Kirov and other ballets from youth to company. I liked learning how much the dancers sacrificed, how perfectionistic they are (even more than they're teachers and choreographers), and how dedicated, but what was missing? Dancing! They kept teasing me with brief pieces from various ballets. I wanted to see more of the payoff of their hard work.
