Random Thoughts Thursday

A "Well, don't ya" edition

* Don't ya hate smurf cars? You know, you're creeping through a parking lot and you think you see a spot and as you're almost turned in, there it is... SMURF CAR. Some import with a convertible top, made for a three-foot person and half a passenger.

* Don't ya hate people who can't decide if they're in the turn lane or the straight-through lane? So they sort of sit between them, blocking you from going either way?

* Don't ya hate that there are NEVER enough sprinkles to make it all the way through a sundae?

* Don't ya hate people who think the sun shines out of their... um ... that they are the center of the universe?

* Don't ya hate when it's 72 degrees then 40 the next day?

* Don't ya believe in signs?

* Don't ya think Diana Ross songs are hugely overrated?

* Don't ya think I'm the most funnest person ever?

* Don't ya ... hee...

Movie Mania!
Featuring the TLJ-
Roger Ebert 4-star system.
Usually, Rog and I agree. Usually.

The Dark Knight
TLJ: 3.5 stars
Ebert: 4 stars
I agree, it's an "engrossing tragedy." A great film that makes you think.

I Love You, Man
TLJ: 3 stars
Ebert: 3.5 stars
I liked it, too, Rog, but not as much as you. Yes, you're right -- Jason Segel is my new favorite guy though I do still love my Paul Rudd, too. I laughed enough that I was happy I rented it. Corny, silly, but smart in places, too.

Ballerina
TLJ: 2.5 stars
Ebert: No review online
This movie followed the ballerinas of the Russian Kirov and other ballets from youth to company. I liked learning how much the dancers sacrificed, how perfectionistic they are (even more than they're teachers and choreographers), and how dedicated, but what was missing? Dancing! They kept teasing me with brief pieces from various ballets. I wanted to see more of the payoff of their hard work.
